320GB In Your Trousers!

Nov 26, 2007 I Technology.

msBuffalo has unveiled the world’s first ultra-portable 320GB hard drive, a mini beast capable of sucking up enough data to make your IT man blush.
An external USB 2.0 number with shock resistance and quick transfer rates, the HD-PS320U2 MiniStation Turbo USB (bit of a mouthful, isn’t it?) lets you cart around huge amounts of data wherever you roam in the snuggest of pockets.
Like all decent portable hard drives, the PS320U2 is also a tough customer with an armoured outer case, wrap around USB cable and shock absorbent internal design. This little monster also conveniently draws all its power from the PC or Mac it is connected to meaning an additional, bulky power supply isn’t required.
Furthermore, the PS320U2 has security covered too with the Buffalo’s own ‘Secure Lock Ware (SLW)’ utility which offers drive and file encryption to protect data with up to 256bit AES Encryption. On top of this data can be protected further with the bundled ‘Memeo AutoBackup’ software (Windows only) which offers additional options such as scheduled backup and password protection.
Because it draws all its power from your computer via its USB connection, it doesn’t require an AC adapter. It works with both Windows PCs and Mac OS X, and will be on sale in time for Christmas.

We care because…
It’ll carry your entire music, movie and photo collection, and fits into a skinny pair of slacks.

One response so far, say something?
